VARIO-GUARD® was successfully tested at the test house L.I.E.R. in Lyon/France in 1995 (TB 11 & TB 51) according to EN 1317-2.

VARIO-GUARD® re-directs the impacting vehicles (car or bus) relatively smoothly and therefore a controlled deceleration can be achieved.

Since vehicles can drive on the foot section of VARIO-GUARD® the system stabilizes itself during impact.

Neither the vehicles nor the VARIO-GUARD®-system have any tendency to tip over.
The deceleration to the occupants during the crash is within the tolerated level. The small damages to the system can be easily fixed. The vehicles also show minimal damages.
